I’ll present my most recent book project for the exhibition.

| The exhibition features over twenty fabric works by Suyeon Na, including two fabric books and embroidery drawings made between 2014 and 2021.
Fabric and threads have played important roles in Na’s mixed-media painting and installation, exhibited mainly in the U.S. The durability, flexibility and mobility of these materials have enabled the artist to create work in any new environment. Due to her recent relocation from New York to Tokyo, they resurfaced as main materials in her new project.
Meanwhile, the consistent theme of birth, death, and regeneration as well as the artist’s personal symbols refer to migration appear in the new works again, evoking calm and delicate atmosphere. |
